Brief Introduction

 

Low-voltage soft starter deep well pump is a kind of motor control device specially optimized for pump load characteristics, and its core role is to eliminate the mechanical impact and electrical stress on the pump body and pipeline network of the traditional direct starting method. As the pump is easy to produce water hammer effect in the starting moment, excessive starting torque may lead to impeller damage, pipe vibration and even flange leakage, and soft start technology by gradually increasing the speed of the motor, so that the fluid pressure rises gently, effectively avoiding such problems.

 

This kind of soft starter usually adopts voltage ramp or current limit start mode, in 0.5~30 seconds adjustable time will motor from stationary state steplessly accelerate to the working frequency speed, during the period of starting current can be controlled in the rated current within 2~3 times, greatly reducing the requirements of transformer capacity. For the square torque characteristics of centrifugal pumps, some high-end models are also equipped with pump control logic, which can automatically identify the load inertia and optimize the acceleration curve to avoid the phenomenon of wheezing. In the stopping phase, the optional soft stop function is equally important, through the gradual reduction of the voltage to make the pump speed slowly down, to prevent the network vacuum shock, especially for long distance water transmission or high-rise water supply system.

 

Modern pump soft starters generally incorporate multiple protection mechanisms, including dry-run protection (detecting no-load conditions through current fluctuations), pipe burst protection (monitoring abnormally low loads), and waterproof and dustproof design (IP20 and above). In order to adapt to different working conditions, some products also provide energy-saving operation modes, automatically adjusting the output voltage during light loads to reduce the iron loss of the motor. In terms of installation, the compact structure design facilitates direct integration in the electric control cabinet, supports wall or rail mounting, and most of the products have built-in bypass contactors to reduce the number of peripheral components.
