Brief Introduction

 

Slip ring insuction generator, also known as three-phase wire-wound rotor AC asynchronous motor, must be connected in series with a resistor or reactor in the rotor circuit of the motor, in order to make the starting current reduced, while the starting torque increased, the power factor increased, effectively improving the motor starting performance. Therefore, this kind of motor is usually chosen for dragging in machinery and equipment with large capacity and high requirement for rotating torque.

 

Slip ring motors in the process of operation of the heat is caused by the following reasons:

 

Insufficient cooling air volume of the slip ring. Coaxial installation with the slip ring fan blade should be accurately oriented, in line with the structural design standards and regulations. Fan blade orientation does not meet the standard, on the one hand, it will cause bearing vibration, on the other hand, it will cause the slip ring cooling air volume is not enough so that the slip ring and brush heating .

 

Slip ring airtight ducts are blocked or leaking. Slip ring guided air inlet holes need to be carefully cleaned to avoid the accumulation of dust, blockage caused by the slip ring cooling air volume is insufficient to cause brush and slip ring heating. The maintenance should use compressed air tube to clean the small holes of the slip ring one by one. Leakage of air ducts can also cause insufficient cooling air volume .

 

Brush quality and maintenance factors. Mixed use of brushes or brush boxes causes some brushes to heat up due to overcurrent, or even burn off the leads. Brushes are not carefully ground and polished during maintenance and replacement. Insufficient gap, brush jamming; gap is too large, and the contact surface of the slip ring does not match. Uneven length of brushes causes uneven current distribution, which is a common cause of slip ring heating. Therefore, it is necessary to blow and clean the slip ring regularly, and measure the brush current .

 

Brush box conductor insulation and equalization spring. Brush box conductive part and the fixed part of the insulating shims installed between the conductive part of the current in the conductive part and brush through and through the slip ring into the rotor. In operation, the accumulation of dust and carbon powder caused by the insulation ability to reduce or conductive, uneven distribution of the resistance of the brushes caused by localized heat. Brush box in the uniform pressure spring after using a certain period of time, there will be uneven pressure, deformation, cracks, loose spring and so on, resulting in brush box overcurrent heating .

 

Slip ring is not round or surface roughness caused by friction heat. Slip rings are not round or surface roughness caused by turning during maintenance, which is easy to cause friction heat .

 

Brush heating caused by bearing vibration. Brushes vibrate with bearings, resulting in uneven friction on brush contact surfaces, loose leads and springs, and localized sparking, further aggravating brush heating.
